As of the writing of this blog, we are literally two weeks away from traveling to Uganda from New England. Only 100 days ago Robin and I received the call to become missionaries. Prior to that, we had zero idea that this was God's will for our lives. In this short time frame, I have left my employer of 12 years and cashed out my 401k (taking the tax and penalty hits). For the last couple of years we have been considering what we might do IF we were able to retire.
We talked about getting an RV and traveling around the US and singing songs and preaching at various churches as we travel. But we never once discussed becoming missionaries OR travel outside of the USA. Now in just the last 100 days, We have all of our travel shots and visas and flight and commuter arrangements set for two incredible international tours.
First, we are going to Uganda to Officially "Launch" our ministry. We have a six hour service planned for Dec 9 (Sunday). At this service, we are giving God all the Glory and Honor for what He has done!! We are featuring the regionally known and award-winning worship dance team Joyful Generation. During this service we will also be establishing and blessing the inauguration of a brand new church already under the banner of Red Gone White. The very church in which we will be celebrating will officially change it's name and it's leadership and vision that day. From that day forward that church will be known as "RED GONE WHITE Church of Uganda/Nsangi...An Affiliated Church of Red Gone White Global Ministries LLC"
And that is just the first stop on this three week journey across Africa.
So I have decided that I will use this blogspot to share with you what God is doing in and through this ministry as we are sent. And I also want to be challenging you with the urgency of the hour. Hence the name of my blog as "The Hour Is Near".
There is SOOO much more that I will be sharing in this blog as to what God has already done in and to and through us...and we have not even gotten off the ground yet!
What I am greatly reminded of in all of this is that Jesus is coming SOON! We are in the Final Days. You will be hard-pressed to find an evangelical leader who would not agree with me on that point. And so where do you stand with God? What is the call on YOUR life? What are you doing to move in faith and boldness in the direction of God's will for YOU? It is vital that all of God's children give Him their ears and their hearts and their hands and their mouths. Your time is NOW to ask God about His purposes for you. If you ask, He will certainly reveal them to you.
